“My CIPR journey started when I was 21. I joined Lewisham Council on a CIPR graduate scheme, before going on to complete the institute’s certificate and diploma, plus an MA in Public Communication. I am incredibly grateful to the CIPR community. Many individuals during my early career mentored me and let me shadow them in their roles as leaders. Without their investment in our profession I wouldn’t have had the vision to see my potential or that of our industry.
Since then, alongside the day job, I’ve tutored on the CIPR’s diploma courses, volunteered and judged awards. I’ve also been heavily involved in developing our qualifications, competency framework and professional standards. I’m currently chair of the CIPR Health Group, and a Council and Finance Committee member.
Throughout my career, as a member of CIPR, I have benefited from an excellent body of knowledge and education and a network of lifelong friends, whose wisdom, experience and interest in my development has been invaluable.”
